Sometimes I have a little trouble making creative decisions. Other times I know instantly what I'm going to do.

I bought this dresser over a month ago from Goodwill. It has been sitting in the garage waiting to be transformed. (And waiting, and waiting, and waiting...)

I was trying to decide which color to paint it. My top three choices were Southern Breeze by Behr.

Heirloom White by Rustoleum.

And a bright pink.
I really liked this pink but wasn't sure if this color would work on such a big piece in my home.

I finally made a color decision and took the time to actually paint it. (And sand and prime it, too.)
I must admit that I'm becoming more curious about chalk paint and the claim that you don't have to sand or prime the item you're painting. That would be wonderful since the sanding and priming tend to be somewhat of a pain.
(Please ignore the dog head peeking in the background...)

This dresser was pretty solid with dove tailed joins on both ends of the drawers.

The hardware was removed to be painted.

Instead of choosing a solid color I decided to go with a two toned paint color. I painted the drawer fronts in Southern Breeze by Behr.

And the body of the dresser I painted a metallic silver. (It's really sparkly in the sun!)

The finished dresser.

It's hard to tell in this picture but there really is a nice contrast between the two paint colors.

I'm looking forward to bringing it inside the house and actually using it!
