Parisian Glam and a Peacock

I came across a photo spread that Country Living Magazine did last year on the modest and opulent home of Lizzie Carney. Modest in size and opulent in design. (And a surprise peacock element, too.)

Lizzie is an import designer with Euro Trash so she is fortunate enough to be able to travel all over Europe for the greatest vintage treasures and flea market finds. (I'm only slightly jealous.) Her style can best be described as Parisian glam. Her main color palette are rich greys with coral accents.

She has her dining room in a wine cellar or maybe it's a wine cellar in her dining room.

I like the combination of the greys with the corals. Very girly.

Lizzie transformed an extra bedroom into her personal diva dressing room. Tres Chic!

This is my favorite room--the kitchen. Let me just say two words, 1) turquoise 2) refrigerator. I just think it's the coolest cooler ever. And don't get me started on the double chandeliers. Not that one wasn't gorgeous enough, Lizzie put up two! These are exactly the kind of chandelier I've been looking for. Unfortunately I haven't had the greatest luck trolling thrifts stores or wading through garage sale cast-offs. (I'm still holding out hope, though, that one will cross my path eventually...even if it's above my bed in the retirement home.) And now the peacock question. Lizzie either decorated her kitchen with a stuffed peacock or she is an owner of exotic fowl and this frisky bird just happened to perch on the fridge to keep an eye on things.

I really dig Lizzie's style. I would love to have the decorating fairies sprinkle a little glamour dust around my home. (Instead I have just plain grey dust without any hint of glamour nor any hint of a peacock, either, for that matter.)
