Happy Birthday, America!

For those attending parades, feasting at barbecues, watching fireworks and honoring those who have and are serving in the military. Happy 4th of July!

Here are some images in honor of Independence Day. I remember seeing this home in a Country Living magazine a number of years ago.

A tiny little country barn. (Maybe for a tiny horse.)

A festive felt wreath.

Martha Stewart cupcake stand. (I haven't figured out what the strange black spots on the cupcake papers are from.)

Some colorful parfaits also from Martha Stewart.

I really don't know why these pictures turned out so tiny. (They weren't that small when I uploaded them.) They do look tasty though!

Beautiful table setting from HGTV. I recognized it as being a design from Miss Mustard Seed.

A lovely gazebo from the country's most famous homemaker, Martha Stewart. (She is quite busy isn't she?)

We are in the middle of a draught here in Texas so there is a burn ban in effect and NO fireworks allowed. Not even sparklers. (Which may be just as well as I have an irrational fear of lighting defective sparklers and having them consume my children. Sorta like the picture. Slightly morbid, I know!)

All the public firework shows have been cancelled. So looking at pretty pictures and listening to Katy Perry's overplayed song is about the closest I'm going to get.

Have a wonderful and meaningful 4th of July!
