What's For Sale Sunday (The Luxury Edition)

For this week I decided to do a "Luxury Edition."  I chose 3 homes from some of the most expensive housing markets in the United States.  Homes that are a little above the average budget.

The least expensive of the trio is this "modest" Honolulu bungalow at 12,615 sq ft.  Really, it's all about the view.  We hardly even need to see the rest of this 7 bedroom, 8 bath home listed for $23 million.  (Mere pocket change.)

There is a unique reflecting pool replacing a patio in the back so watch your step.  (And the doors should probably be kept closed during rambunctious parties.)

 This was the only picture of the interior.  (I guess it IS all about the view.)  The wood planked ceiling is classically Hawaiian.

The second house on the tour is what you might expect from a place called Bel Air.  (Los Angeles, CA.)  This opulent abode boasts 15 bedrooms, 16.5 baths at 25,953 sq ft and is listed as "the best value in Bel Air."   For the budget sum of $24 million you can still feel comfortable inviting your celebrity friends over for impromptu movie screenings and bocce ball tournaments on the lawn.

 A winding staircase.  (Not recommended for toddlers or those toting an oxygen tank.)

 One of the many living areas.  I don't really understand the furniture placement.  (Or the style for that matter...)  It reminds me of that saying,  "If it ain't Baroque, then don't fix it."  (Wow, I think I may have just quoted a line from a Disney movie.)

 The dining room has an enormous circular table that could probably accommodate the United Nations.

 There really is a great attention to detail in all the architectural elements.

 The most interesting room in the house.  I think the interior designer really had fun with this one.  The one of a kind headboard is slightly bizarre in my opinion.  (But who knows?  Maybe if I saw it in person and had the opportunity to sit upon one of the many poufs surrounding the bed I would become a fan.)

A Bel Air mansion wouldn't be complete without a fabulous pool area.  (I'm sure the Fresh Prince of Bel Air would approve.)

 The third luxury home is from the beautiful (and pricey) area of Greenwich, CT.  This traditional Elizabethan manor on 40.26 acres has 14 bedrooms and 15 baths in 21,897 sq ft.  (That's a lot of vacuuming!)  It is the most expensive of the three listed for $42.9 million.

 This is a photo of the winding drive.  It looks like a scene from a movie.  (I absolutely love it.)

The home, which was built in 1918 has impeccable attention to finishes and detail.

 Everything from the curved stone ceiling to the incredible landscaping shows beautiful workmanship.

 I think this would be a wonderful place for photos.  (I can picture Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet strolling through the grounds.)

A large rectangular outdoor pool with Grecian statues standing guard.  There is also a large indoor pool as well as a tennis court and two additional cottages on the property.  (The inlaws would always be visiting.)
