Christmas Expectations

Christmas was nice this year.  We spent a quiet weekend at home.  No snow here, (it's Texas after all) but I was still hoping for a white Christmas.  We had some bigger (more exciting) plans that were promptly derailed with the arrival of a bad cold, a vomiting marathon and a raging case of pink eye.  So my husband and two of the children have been having a less than merry time this holiday.

We've also had a house guest of the feline persuasion.  He has interacted well with our dog but for some reason our cat has been less than hospitable.  She has taken to hissing at this other cat and emitting an unearthly evil sounding growl whenever he approaches.  (Something that would be more in line with a character from a Stephen King novel and not a fluffy suburban house cat.)

So Christmas has been a little different this year.  But it's been a small reminder of how thankful I am for all the good things and good people in my life.

I hope you've all had a merry Christmas.

  3. You're not alone! I had the stomach flu on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Now, the 3 of us are fighting a cold. Ugh! I'm planning on making a turkey next week to make up for our Christmas dinner that didn't happen. Yucky viruses!
