Too Much of a Good Thing?

I think I might have a thing for blues.

I absolutely adore this blue sideboard from decorpad.

I thought my fancy for blue was in the normal realm until my children held an intervention this evening. Apparently, (according to them...) I have been painting EVERYTHING the same blue color--Behr Southern Breeze. It's the color on one wall in my kitchen.

The color on the little dresser in the living room.

The same color on the shutters above the fireplace. As well as the drawer fronts on the silver and blue dresser I just painted last week. (That's not too much is it?)

In my own defense, I just finished painting two items this afternoon and I did not use Southern Breeze. (So there!)

I found this caddy at Goodwill. It already had some nice distressing but I wanted a different color.

I found this tray at another Goodwill a few months ago. I liked the brown wood but not the burnt edged butterfly poem.

I took off the paper and sanded it. It is heavy wood and I've been getting a lot of use out of it. I decided I wanted to paint it, too.

So here is the caddy in the new color I chose with a little distressing. The color is Krylon Catalina Mist.

I originally planned on using it for a toilet paper caddy in the kids' bathroom but that idea was vetoed. (Apparently THIS blue is too much like THAT blue--can you believe it?)

No worries. I can definitely use it myself.

Here is the tray in Catalina Mist. (I ended up distressing it after the photo was taken.) Love how it turned out!

So I guess I can understand the children's perception that I have an "obsession" with painting everything the color blue. No problem. I can stop painting it anytime I want. Really, I can.

(Just as soon as I finish painting this bathroom and a few other items....)

  2. Those colors are gorgeous. I am a major aqua/turquoise/sea glass, Tiffany blue, etc. addict. Just about every shade of blue/green falls in my "favorite color" spectrum. I have so much turquoise stuff in my house, but I love it! And that is all that matters, right?

    Best,
