Locker Decor

This evening I attended the first football game of the season for our middle school.  My son, Jared is on the football team and really played a good game tonight. The funny thing is the announcer kept referring to him as "Eduardo Gomez" throughout the entire game.  I screamed myself hoarse when Jared scored his first touchdown.  (I don't know who was more excited, me or the Gomez family.)

So in honor of football season I have decided to explore some of the ways lockers have been incorporated as a decorating trend.

The often copied Pottery Barn came up with their own version of the vintage locker.  It works perfectly in an entryway to corral loose items and hide them away from sight.

Lower rows of lockers lend a slight industrial feel to dining room storage.  (Great lamps and license plate art.)

Basic silver gym lockers give a slight air of sophistication to this bedroom.

Another option is the open football style locker.  It would be wonderful in an entryway or mudroom.

My favorite look is the locker turned bookshelves.  It really has good proportion and I think I like the color, too.

So, good luck with your locker projects.  Or should I say, Good Luck finding a locker.  They are quite difficult to locate and can be pricey.  (My sister has been looking for a locker set for a while now to place into her son's room.
