30 Days of Gratitude (Day 5) New Blog Name.

What's in a name?  Plenty, if you are a blogger trying to come up with a domain name that hasn't already been taken.  When I started my blog, "Charming", last March I (naively) named it what I wanted and didn't pay attention to how much that name was already being used in some form or another.  I had to go with "charmingdecor" for my blogspot address as well as "misscharmingdecor" for my email since "Charming" was already taken.  Because of that there has been confusion with the actual name of my blog.  I've been featured more than a few times where my blog was mistakenly referred to as "Charming Decor."  And I'm unable to find my facebook page for "Charming" since there are legions with that name, too.  The final straw came recently when I decided to have my own domain name for my blog.  (Meaning that I would own the name and that it would end in a   .com.)  The "Charming" name is very prolific so I was having a difficult time finding a combination of "Charming" that wasn't already taken.  I finally came to the realization that I needed to change my blog name if I wanted to continue to grow it and avoid problems in the future.

So, welcome to my new blog, "Charming Zebra."  I wanted to keep the word, "charming" in the title and also to choose an unusual, slightly ridiculous name that no one else wanted.  So it's all mine.  Today I'm thankful for the ability to change.  (Even the little things.)  New beginnings.

  1. Love the new name! I'm new to the abyss of blogland and can easily see the potential for confusion in a blog name. No matter what you call yourself - you're awesome! Lisa
