Awkward Holiday Pet Photos

 The month of December is generally the time of excited trips to the mailbox to see which Christmas cards were sent and to view the festive photos that usually accompany them.  Okay, maybe not.  But it is the time for family holiday photos.  And each year there is the question of whether or not to include Fluffy or Fido in the family picture.  Martha Stewart can pose in a photo with a reindeer (or is that a caribou?)  So why can't the family pet join the photo fun?

 

Pets can be fancy too.  Just throw a Santa hat on their heads or stuff them in a stocking for a cute holiday photo.  Pets can look adorable by themselves in photos but once you add the humans all the cuteness goes away and something slightly awkward takes its place.

 Case in point.  Decent looking couple plus furry monkey children equals a slightly awkward picture.

 There is just something a little off in this picture of a man lounging on the couch with his pet pony.  Maybe adding a Santa hat would help.

 The children seem happy while the dogs keep fighting over who Santa loves more.

Awkward or not, pets are part of our families and maybe they should be included on the family Christmas card.  (I mean really, have you ever seen a more distinguished looking Joseph?)
