Christmas Mantel

It seems as though I'm a little behind in decorating for Christmas this year.  (And don't even ask about gifts.)  The trees are up and totes full of Christmas decor are down from the attic but not a lot is put together yet.  I just finished the fireplace mantel and decorating the tree in the family room.

I just started stringing the lights on the wreath when the "inspector" came to give everything the once over.  I had to hide the wreath in the bathroom beforehand so the precious cat would stop chewing on the pine needles.  (It appears as though she was giving me the kitty death stare...)

Each year I decorate the mantel differently. This time I decided to keep it a little simpler by focusing on items I already had.  The pots of rosemary from the grocery store are the only new elements. The picture frame was a Goodwill find for $3.99 and painted white.  The "love" sign is mirrored and was found at Hobby Lobby earlier this year.  The ornaments are mostly plastic except for three.  A fourth one broke in my hand as I was clumsily trying to prevent it from crashing to the floor.  (It was amazing how far away each individual glass shard ended up scattering.  And such fun cleaning it up.)  The ornaments on the wreath color coordinate with the glass ones on the Christmas tree.  It's simple but I like it.

What do you think?
