Pancakes and Such

I have to admit that I've really been enjoying Christmas vacation.  The kids are out of school and my husband and I are off from work.  It's been nice being able to sleep in.  This morning the children trashed the kitchen and made pancakes while I puttered around the house and stayed in my pajamas much later than I should have.  This Christmas I have been doing less of the usual "seasonal requirements" and spending more time just hanging out with the family.

My youngest son and I ventured out this afternoon to do a little shopping and a few errands.  I planned on only being away from home for a short period of time but with the busy traffic and the crowds it took much longer than expected.  (Note to self:  Avoid all stores the week before Christmas--seriously.)  Thank goodness everyone we came in contact with was in a merry mood.  Some were even dressed in reindeer antlers, Santa hats or other festive attire.  Tonight our plans are to just stay in and watch Christmas movies.  Also, the St. Olaf choir will be performing on PBS and they always put on a great show.

What are you doing on the eve of Christmas eve?
