The Fanciest Chicken Coop

In celebration of National Pet Week, I will be featuring projects this whole week that are focused toward the wonderful animals in our lives.

Tiffany from The Fancy Farmgirl has created a posh, vintage inspired, poultry house.  In other words, a very fancy chicken coop.  (We had chickens growing up but our coops never knew such luxury.)  Tiffany is not only a farm girl but a professional photographer as well so her photos are absolutely gorgeous!  I love all the beautiful details that went into the design of her coop.  My favorites are the vintage screen door and the pretty chandelier.  (Yes, her chickens have their own chandelier.)  Tiffany is also about responsible chicken ownership and the work that is involved with raising them.  Be sure to check out The Fancy Farmgirl to see more of Tiffany's beautiful coop and fabulous fowl.

Speaking of chickens...  I had the opportunity last week to visit with my friend, Jennifer and to see her sweet little chicks.  Jen and her husband moved last year from a busy city life in California to embrace the country and farming life in Texas.  They bought some baby chicks of their own and then had the fortune of receiving all the hatched chicks from the entire first grade of the local elementary school.

The chickens were losing their fuzz and starting to grow their feathers when I popped in to see them.  The youngest ones seemed the most curious about me.  The older chicks would huddle in groups at the end of the pen and stare at me while the younger chicks would walk towards the camera to see what was going on.  They were housed in three different sections in a shed while their new chicken coop was being built to accommodate the poultry windfall.  (I wonder what Jennifer's husband would think of installing a chandelier in their new coop.)

And don't forget to join our Rockin' Pet Linky Party which will be up all week.  I've been having a lot of fun looking at the photos of all the adorable pets who've linked up so far.

Also, be sure to visit The House At Bluebird Lane for more pet party fun!
