Awesome Architecture or Creative Craziness?

Many of us out in blogland reside in a comfy little house just like our neighbor's comfy little house. We do our creative best for our homes to reflect our uniqueness inside. But outside our homes may look similar to everyone else's in the neighborhood.

Now, SOME people aren't restrained by resale value, school districts or cash. They use their creativity on the outside of their homes and businesses.

(Korea)

Don't you wish YOU could live in a toilet bowl? This commode abode was created by architect Sim Jae-Duck of Korea.

(Hellam, Pennsylvania)

There was an old woman who lived in a shoe she had so many children she didn't know what to do... Now most of us know how less than fragrant shoes can get. So would you really want to live in one--especially with an excessive amount of (ankle biters) precious angels? Just sayin...

(Portugal)

The original Hard Rock Cafe.

It gives new meaning to the saying, "Between a rock and a hard place."

(Newark, Ohio)

The vision of Dave Longaberger of Longaberger Basket Company. Apparently it took 2 years and 30 million dollars to complete. That's one expensive basket!

(Kansas City, Missouri)

Is there any doubt what this building is?

(Endor?)

An Ewok retirement community.

I thought it would be appropriate for me to show a picture of my own house. It's a little small but the view is out of this world. Did I mention that we're not from around here?

(Brussels, Belgium)

I keep expecting to see Shia LaBeouf for some reason.

(Ontario, Canada)

So whether you live all close and cozy with your neighbors,

(Nagano, Japan)

Or are living the single life in a tiny little house on stilts, just be glad you have a place to call your own. (And be thankful you don't live in a shoe.)

  1. Perhaps it's a bit of both. Awesome and creative architecture with a bit of crazy in them. These look like fun places to be in, really. It must have been pretty great to construct those buildings.
