Sweetheart Table Setting

For many years I thought that chargers were an unnecessary luxury.  They can be quite pricey--especially if you're buying for eight or ten place settings.  And then you have to find room to store them.  Too much trouble said I.  But since my frequent expeditions into the amazing world of Goodwill and various thrift stores, I have become a believer.  A convert, if you will.

I love my silver metal chargers and use them all the time.  They were a Goodwill purchase for a dollar a piece.  I recently found four red chargers with a similar pattern to my white ironstone plates at the Goodwill as well.  They are plastic and shiny and perfect for Valentine's day.  (Or any other time that I desire to bring in a little red.)

A simple sweetheart place setting.  I used extra wide plaid Christmas netting as a place mat and tied a simple red ribbon around the glass stem.  All it needs now is a love note and a few Valentine goodies.  (My favorite part!)

  1. Wow, I love that! For me, it's so much nicer to stay in and have dinner on Valentine's Day, anyway.

  4. So, so pretty! You've inspired me to rethink my chargers. After I blow the dust off them, I'll use them for my sweetie-pies V'day dinner. Thanks for the nudge, Miss Charming. Much love, Lisa
