Wonderland Bakery

 One of the places we visited when we were in California this last October was the Wonderland Bakery.  I had discovered the bakery upon reading a book about teens who owned their own companies.  Apparently, a 19 year girl named Allison and her mother started the bakery a number of years ago.  It had become quite successful and now had four different locations.  We visited the Newport Beach location which was the original shop.

The first thing we noticed when we walked in the doors was a strong vanilla cake/candy scent.  Then the sparkly, glittery floor.

 It was obvious that merchandise was a major part of the shop.  All kinds of cupcake themed gifts and knick-knacks.  I ended up buying a fancy set of cupcake measuring spoons, myself.  (And yes, I do use them.)

They sold seasonal decor and gifts as well.

 T-shirts and teddy bears, too.  The Wonderland Bakery also did a number of parties and had various event packages available.

 The main reason for stopping by the bakery was for the fancy cupcakes.  They sold giant cookies, too but the cupcakes were much better.  They had some set combinations or you could choose your own cake and frosting.  They had the traditional flavors like chocolate and vanilla but also carried fancier flavors like red velvet, snicker doodle, raspberry, white chocolate, carrot cake, German chocolate, lemon cream, etc.  There were so many different combinations. 

Our favorite and yummiest cupcake by far was the snicker doodle.  Lip smacking good!
