Cool Fridge Frames

Today I had the day off from my "paid" job which gave me a little time to work at my "unpaid" job.  (Laundry, vacuuming, cleaning--you know the drill...)  I also took the opportunity to tackle a small project in my kitchen.

We generally keep various photos (and a scary head) on our refrigerator which tend to look messy no matter how they're arranged.

I decided to use some of the picture frames (from my hoarder's collection) to make things neat and a little fancy.  All the frames were found at Goodwill for just a dollar or two each.

I matched the frames to the pictures I wanted to use and then cleaned the frames.  I inserted the photos next and then did my best Hulk impersonation while tearing off the kickstand on the back of each frame.  (No small feat.)

I glued a magnet to each of the four corners on the back of each frame.  (The magnets I bought at Hobby Lobby.)  I had the brilliant idea of using Super Glue to attach the magnets to the frames.  No matter how careful I was, I ended up with glue on my fingers EVERY SINGLE TIME!  (At least I had sense enough not to touch my sticky fingers together or to scratch myself.)

I was able to put together 3 frames before I ran out of magnets.  (I already love how they look on the fridge.)  The magnets have a strong pull so the frames stay right in place.  I like the look of the frames in their original hues but painting them all the same color would be another option.

(Note to self:  Buy magnets and Super Glue with a more finger friendly container.)

What about the outside of your fridge?  Is it barren and smooth, neat and organized or buried in creative chaos?

  2. Stainless steel and empty unless you want to count the sticky hand prints from the guys I live with. Oh, where did the big head go?

    1. The big head is on the inside of the cabinet door for a startling surprise each time it's opened.

  4. Ok...photos on the fridge has always been an axiety trigger for me. Yep, I get down right anxious with the cluttery look. Well, now...look who has come up with an amazing way to display photos beautifully? Yes, leave it to you, Miss Charming. I LOVE IT! If I do this, I may have to paint mine all the same colour just because I roll that way. Either way, it looks fabo! Much Love, Lisa

  12. Try putting the glue on the magnets then laying the frame down on them all at once.
