Anthropologie Field Trip

I tend to buy a lot of items from thrift stores but that doesn't mean I don't like a little retail therapy now and then.  I've been wanting to visit Anthropologie for awhile now and finally had the opportunity to go yesterday.  I work for a dental lab (which is coincidentally called, "The Dental Lab").  The job requires a lot of driving all over the city to different dental offices.  Yesterday, my daughter came along as she had to "shadow" someone hard at work.  (Ha!)  After we were finished working we made a stop at a posh outdoor mall and headed to Anthropologie.

It was such a cute little store with a number of housewares and clothing.  I saw the owl cookie jar that I had been eyeing on the show, Modern Family.  Only $98 dollars.  Such a steal!  (as in the only way that cookie jar would be coming home with me.)

The dish towels were just darling.  The embroidered strawberry one was my fav while my daughter liked the shrimp motif.  They ranged in price from $24-$35 each.  (I tell you that a pretty towel like that wouldn't be slopping any dishes at my house.)

I loved these grooved bowls.  They came in a number of different colors and were reasonably priced.

Anthropologie is known for having beautiful knobs.  (Some were almost like jewelry.)  We had fun looking at all the different designs.

There was a great dresser without knobs.  I also saw a blue painted chippy cabinet that was listed for a measly $9,000.  (The tag was handwritten so I wonder if it was possibly a typo or just an ambitious price.)

My daughter is a Betsey Johnson fan so we had to stop there next.  The pink shop with the black and white striped awning.

There was quite a lot of pink and some adorable outfits.  My daughter tried on a sweet blue gingham sundress with a flouncy skirt.  The helpful sales girl brought a pair of sparkly shoes and jewelry into the pink dressing room to go with the dress.  My daughter looked so lovely in the outfit.  (We ended up leaving it behind though since I have a little issue with spending over $298 for a sundress.)

We had so much fun yesterday.  It was great "working", shopping, lunching and just spending time together.

Even though we did a lot of browsing I managed to bring something home.  Six turquoise grooved bowls from Anthropologie.  They're mini sized!  I can hardly wait to use them.

Do you have a favorite place for retail therapy?

  1. I stopped in to Home Goods this week for some retail therapy. Their prices are MUCH better than Anthropologie's, but I still don't think I've ever bought anything there! I love their dishes--I fell in love with some orange plates and bowls this time...just can't figure out where to store them ;-)
