Vintage Enamelware Baker

Usually, I only buy thrifty or vintage items if I can use them.  But there are times where I make an exception and buy something purely for aesthetic reasons.  When I'm looking at an item and know that without a doubt it's coming home with me.

A few months ago I popped into the Salvation Army looking for a specific piece of furniture and came across this enamelware baker.  It was in wonderful condition and had beautiful details.

It was big enough to cook a turkey inside but I bought it because I loved how it looked, pure and simple.

It has a cute little knob on the lid and great handles on the sides.  It's pretty heavy duty.

I wasn't as successful in photographing the baker in the house.  (The furry inspector insisted on being in every shot.)

I'm crushing on my enamelware baker.  Sometimes it's great to buy something just because you love it.

Have you bought something recently just because it brought a smile to your face?

  5. I have your same philosophy - be able to use it or don't buy it. Totally agree with your decision to buy this beauty. WOW! I'm a little jealous... and I wish I could get my cat included in a picture. She runs the minute she sees the camera.
